About Me
I love the game and know how gratifying improvement and success that comes through hard work and intense practice. I have given over 20,000 lessons in my career. Many of my students have earned college scholarships and I can teach anyone to improve who is willing to put in the work. I passed this work ethic to my son Jon Antunes, my lifetime favorite student. I have expertise in club Fitting, club repair and the rules of golf.
Teaching Background and Experience
- I have been a Class A PGA golf professional for over 25 years and have earned Life Member status
- I am an adjunct professor at Baylor university and currently teach beginning and intermediate golf classes
- I am an assistant golf coach at Vanguard College Prep School
- I am a certified K-Motion instructor using K-Vest equipment and software
- I am a trained V1 Golf video analysis instructor
- I am a Master Level Instructor at the Heart of Texas Golf Academy
Competitive Background and Experience
- Winner of over 10 individual collegiate golf tournaments
- 1st All-American in Sam Houston State Golf History and Member of the Sam Houston State Athletic Hall of Honor
- Captain of the Sam Houston State Golf Team
- Competed on the PGA Tour, Australian Tour and in NTPGA/STPGA Section and National Championships
- 12 time member of the NTPGA Joe Black Cup Team, 2 time vice-captain of the team, and 2019 Captain of the team
- Over 25 years of experience as a PGA Head Golf Professional
